Alpine County record questions usually belong with an official custodian rather than this private reference resource. The contacts below route court files to the Superior Court, law-enforcement records to the Sheriff's Office, and a person's own statewide summary to the California Department of Justice.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the office that holds the requested Alpine County record:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Criminal records and personal rap sheets: contact the California Department of Justice for subject-only fingerprint review
  • Arrest and booking records: contact the Alpine County Sheriff's Office records contact
  • Criminal court files: contact Alpine County Superior Court at 14777 State Route 89, Markleeville, CA 96120, phone 530-694-2113; the records counter is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Record cleanup: file the proper request with the court that handled the case

For sheriff records, contact Records Requests, Licensing and Permits at 99 Water Street, P.O. Box 278, Markleeville, CA 96120, 530-694-2231 ext. 331. The main sheriff office phone is 530-694-2231. Court record requests go to the Superior Court clerk instead.
